(Every) DAY
I Peter 2:4-5

In The
summer of 1805, a number of Indian chiefs and warriors met in
council at Buffalo Creek, New York, to hear a presentation of
the Christian message by a Mr. Cram from the Boston Missionary
Society. After the
sermon, a response was given by Red Jacket, one of the leading
chiefs. Among other
things, the Chief said…
“Brother, we are told that you have been preaching to the
white people in this place.
These people are our neighbors.
We are acquainted with them.
We will wait a little while and see what effect your
preaching has upon them.
If we find it does them good, makes them honest and less
disposed to cheat Indians, we will then consider again what you
have said.”
“The truth
is, standing on my values and being willing to take emotional
risks are always personal decisions—and I am fully
accountable for every single one I make. It's never about
them, it's always about me. Me choosing to
practice personal accountability by aligning my actions with my
beliefs.”
Romans 12:2 - Don’t conform any
longer to the pattern of this world… but be transformed by the
renewing of your mind

Paul says “don’t
conform” and issues an invitation to be transformed “by renewing
your mind”

119:32 - I run in the path of your commands, for you have set
my heart free.
Running toward God’s
commands doesn’t sound like
freedom
John 8:32 “You will
know the truth, and the truth will set you free”
(Knowing how God
designed things to work will set you free to experience life as
God intended)
“The freedom to
choose is not what makes you free (Choices make you free)
Driving on the right side of the road (left side in England!)
Get my car serviced regularly, keeping oil and water in the
right places…Using sun block at Sea World (not on my scalp!)
James 1:25 - But the
man who looks intently into
the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do
this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it — he will
be blessed in what he does.
Joshua (1) -
"Be strong and
courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the
land I swore to their forefathers to give them.
Be strong and very
courageous. ►Be
careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not
turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be
successful wherever you go.
►Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth;
meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do
everything written in it. Then you will be

Story is not so much about EVANGELISM as it is about
DISCIPLESHIP
Challenge – how to turn rocky, thorny soil into good,
away from birds
I Peter 2:4-25 He
delivered us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to
the kingdom of His beloved Son, in who we have redemption, the
forgiveness of sins.(GRATITUDE
– Simon and the woman)
…and coming to Him as living stones,
rejected by men,
but choice and precious in the
sight of God, you also as living stones, are being built up as a
spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual
sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ…
The church is a
spiritual house, made of living stones,
with a role to worship (CULTURE BASED ON TALENT
VS. INTEGRITY)
WORTH-ship
Making God famous,
Squaring our behavior with
our divinely provided benefits:
to live in such a way that the supreme worth of our
God is made visible!
What matters
is the core of what God is about
Philippians 4:
WHATEVER…
“If You die on the way to the meeting, make sure your body is
leaning toward to room…”
Lean our lives toward
the purposes of God
Another kind of
STONES
Joshua 4:5-7 These stones are to be
a memorial to the people of
Israel forever."
